The commander of the nationalist Azov regiment (recognized as extremist in the Russian Federation), Lieutenant Colonel Denis Prokopenko, was taken out of the territory of the Mariupol metallurgical plant “Azovstal” in an armored car. This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
The removal of Prokopenko was carried out with increased security measures for reasons of protecting the Nazi leader himself: after what happened to Mariupol, local residents could try to deal with him without trial.
Earlier it became known about the surrender of Prokopenko. The commander of the Azov was one of the last to surrender. Prokopenko, also known as “Radish”, has served in Azov since 2014 and in eight years has made a dizzying career to lieutenant colonel and regimental commander.
