The administration of the Suez Canal announced the departure date of the container ship Ever Given, which ran aground in the channel in March 2021, provoking a multi-day traffic jam of hundreds of ships.

It is specified that this will happen on July 7. In honor of this event, the administration of the waterway will arrange a real celebration.

“On Wednesday, July 7, a festive ceremony will be held on the occasion of signing an agreement on the settlement of a dispute with the ship’s owner company. The program includes the departure of Ever Given, ” the message says.

Recall that the incident with Ever Given occurred on March 23. It was possible to remove the container ship from the shoal only on March 29. However, the canal administration did not allow the ship to leave at the place of registration until the settlement of disputes about compensation for damage. The emergency in the Suez Canal provoked an increase in oil prices and cargo transportation.
