The Russian Foreign Ministry commented on the situation with the detention of journalists in Estonia. The official representative of the department, Maria Zakharova, said that the situation is under control at the Russian embassy in Tallinn. Diplomats are making every effort to assist the Russians. A representative of the consulate has already gone to the place of their detention.
Earlier it became known that representatives of the Izvestia newspaper were detained in Estonia. They were removed from the train that was traveling from Narva to Tallinn. It is not yet known what correspondent Ksenia Soldatova and cameraman Dmitry Timofeev are accused of. The editorial office claims that their film crew was preparing two materials. This is a restriction on the issuance of visas to Russians and the destruction of a monument dedicated to the legendary T-34 tank.
