The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Major General Kirill Budanov, told the Ukrainian media that in his opinion the Russian military create only the illusion that they are leaving Kherson, but in fact they are preparing for defense and bringing new units there.
Budanov noted that he has no intelligence that Russian troops are going to leave Kherson. He noted that cash and bank vaults are really being taken out of Kherson, the seriously wounded are being taken out. But at the same time, new units are coming to Kherson, and defensive lines are being built on the streets.
He added that the Ukrainian military needs to take control of the Kakhovka dam, which is the only full-fledged transport artery. Then, according to him, it will be more difficult for Russian troops to defend Kherson.
