Pentagon spokesman John Kirby, speaking to reporters, said that the US authorities are considering the possibility of providing various kinds of “remote” support to the Afghan authorities after the withdrawal of the American contingent from this country.
According to him, the discussion of options for such assistance is already underway with the Foreign Ministries of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, similar negotiations are planned with Turkey.
“The United States continues contacts with the leaders of the countries bordering Afghanistan on the topic of various types of assistance that they could offer to Kabul,” Kirby said.
