The head of the Pentagon press service, John Kirby, said at a briefing that so far the United States has no problems with uninterrupted supplies of weapons to Ukraine.
“If there is no Congressional approval, from May 19 it will begin to affect our capabilities,” he explained.
Kirby added that this does not mean stopping supplies on May 19 or 20, but the Pentagon wants to “have a safety cushion.”
He stressed that in the absence of a Congressional decision, a “temporary bubble” may form when there will be nothing to send.
“We would like to avoid this,” Kirby added.
So far, according to Kirby, until May 19, the Pentagon still has $ 100 million, which has not been allocated to specific tasks.
Recall that on the eve of Republican Senator Rand Paul blocked the adoption of an accelerated package of assistance to Ukraine in the amount of almost $ 40 billion.
