“There are war criminals sitting there who must answer according to the law”
Ukraine is trying to transfer the situation with the militants who are holed up on Azovstal from the military to the international legal field. Three ex-presidents of Ukraine called for this, Deputy Prime Minister Irina Vereshchuk announced the next round of negotiations, where Turkey is the mediator, the International Red Cross and the UN are the negotiators, and their result, according to Vereshchuk, should be a document regulating exactly how the evacuation of the “sitters” will be carried out.

The paradox is that all this accepted international terminology – “road map”, “preparation for signing”, “UN mandate for negotiations” – is used in all seriousness in relation to the militants of the terrorist Azov banned in Russia, who have taken refuge underground from being held accountable for their war crimes.
Is Russia ready to negotiate and sign some documents – we are talking about this with military analyst, editor of the Arsenal of the Fatherland publication Alexey Leonkov.
— The fact is that Kiev is trying in any way to bring these people to the territory of Ukraine. What they just don’t do for this! They are already attracting both the Pope and Antonio Guterres, and Elon Musk, and Emmanuel Macron cut off the phone… Obviously, they are trying to get some very important people out of there, whom they do not want to shine.
— It’s simple: if you want to take the wounded out of there, please take them out. No obstacles. We will treat them, which, in fact, we always do. We restore, operate, if it is required. But after that, everyone who is supposed to answer before the court.
— And what, in fact, are we doing that is not humane, so that the Red Cross has the opportunity to make some claims against us? The Red Cross, by the way, is not an evacuation team. Its employees must provide medical care, deliver medicines. And Ukraine in this case is trying to give the International Committee of the Red Cross unusual functions – to make an evacuation team out of it. That’s why Vereshchuk is trying to broadcast something about some kind of tricky contract.
— Of course. This has never existed in nature before.
— For sure. I think there are those who can not shine in any way. Now information is coming that Israeli mercenaries are sitting in Azovstal. Just what are they doing there? And are they mercenaries at all, or guards of someone even more significant character? The question remains open.
— It is quite possible that there are some TV professionals there. I admit this, because with the help of these photos and videos, the image of the “heroes-defenders of Azovstal” is then maintained and promoted in the world. By the way, they have a satellite connection there, through which they transmit all these pictures.
— To be honest, I don’t understand it either. By the way, I have said this more than once: it is necessary to block all communication channels for them, leaving only those through which they could communicate only with us.
And now these “sitters” are making some kind of “heroic movie epic” out of their siege. Their videos are released daily, showing the world their suffering. And they also demand silence from us every day, which each time ends with them taking up new firing positions and starting shelling. After that, our guys once again have to “smoke them out” from there.
And so it is every time: they will get out, shoot, get an answer, lose their fighters, then crawl back into their holes and let’s record new videos.
— They’re running out. They themselves filmed a video where they allegedly eat canned dog food: they salt them and chew them. It’s hard to say how reliable all this is. Perhaps all this is also being done in order to soften the world community.
Those who still manage to get out of there are told that they still have food, but water is bad. Well, as you can guess, a person without food can last longer than without water. So far so. But I will tell you that we are not in a hurry and we are not going to risk our people. So now they are being processed daily and systematically with the help of firing means – this is a fact. We don’t just let them sit there quietly.
— It’s hard to say. There is absolutely no reliable information about what is actually happening there. We have only general information. But I think we are talking about a week or two, at least a month. Everything, as I have already said, rests on the availability of water and food.
They have a generator underground there – an independent power source that provides them with electricity. Do not forget that this place was equipped as a bomb shelter, designed, among other things, in case of a nuclear war. That is, there were water tanks there. The electric generator provided light, operation of refrigerators, for food storage. To speed up the process of their exit from there, it is necessary, of course, fire work on these objects.
In addition, they use cunning tactics there. They are trying to come to the surface through various utilities, manholes through a tunnel where electricity networks are laid.
— We can. We track and destroy such passages. That is, we have planned, methodical work…
We are once again offered to support their script, now an international show called “Heroic Defense of Azovstal”. It is designed exclusively for the Western layman. None of this has any effect on our public, as we are well aware that there are war criminals sitting there who must answer according to the law.
— No. They don’t make any sense. We already adhere to all the requirements of the International Committee of the Red Cross. We provide medical assistance to everyone who leaves Azovstal. But I don’t think we will participate in any shows with signings.
