Russian diplomats managed to settle with the US authorities the issue of opening a bank account of the Russian Consulate General in Houston, TASS reports.
“The issues with the American bank were resolved thanks to the efforts of the Russian Foreign Ministry and the Russian Embassy in the United States,” explained Russian Consul General Alexander Zakharov.
At the end of April, Russian Ambassador to Washington Anatoly Antonov said that Bank of America had closed the accounts of Russian consulates in Houston and New York. At the same time, other American banks refused to serve Russian diplomatic missions. Later, the American Citibank opened an account for diplomats in New York.
