Moscow will allow Washington to join the Ukrainian settlement only if the United States influences Kiev to implement the Minsk agreements, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said.

“There used to be situations when the US was allowed to participate in this process,” he explained, answering the question of how Moscow assessed Ukraine’s intentions to attract the States to settle in the east of the country.
According to him, the main question is “how capable are our American colleagues to play a constructive role”, “how much do they understand that without certain steps on the part of Kiev, it will not be possible to move this whole process”.
As Ryabkov noted, if Washington understands that there is a prospect of such work with Kiev, then they may well help in one form or another. The Russian Deputy Foreign Minister added that Moscow does not take the position that US participation is excluded under any conditions.
“The main thing here is the position and approach,” he said.
At the same time, according to the highly placed diplomat, ” with the current approach, the Americans have nothing to do in Ukraine.”
