The official representative of the US State Department, Ned Price, in his microblog on Twitter, commented on the decision of the Moscow City Court, which sentenced an American student, Trevor Reed, to nine years in a penal colony for attacking two employees of the teaching staff in the north of Moscow.
“We are deeply concerned about the decision of the Moscow court to uphold the sentence of Trevor Reed…. The United States will continue to work on behalf of Trevor until the Russian authorities do everything right and return him to his family. Trevor has been deprived of his freedom for too long”, – Price wrote.
Recall that the incident occurred in August 2019. Reed, being in a state of strong alcoholic intoxication, had a fight on the street with two women. The police squad that arrived at the scene detained the young man who was brawling. In the traffic police car, the guy hit one policeman and attacked another who was driving, which almost led to an accident..
