The first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, Viktor Vodolatsky, expressed his opinion on the outcome of the battle for Kherson. Recall that earlier, the commander of the group in the SVO zone, Sergei Surovikin, called the situation in the Kherson direction “tense”, not excluding the adoption of “difficult decisions”. Today, the acting governor of the region, Vladimir Saldo, announced the evacuation of civilians and the administration, but stressed that no one is going to hand over Kherson.
As Vodolatsky noted in an interview with the telegram channel of the NSN Radio Channel, the main task today is to save the civilian population and avoid large losses among Russian servicemen. According to him, now the Ukrainian side in the area of Kherson is replenished with all the forces and means that they have. “The curators from the State Department are forcing Zelensky by any means to show at least somewhere a small success,” the Russian deputy believes.
Next, Vodolatsky noted that General Surovikin has certain levers, as well as the forces and means to destroy the enemy, and he will be able to repel the APU attack in the Kherson direction with heavy losses for the Ukrainian side.
After that, a “chain reaction” will begin in Europe, and unpredictable events will begin in Ukraine itself, the politician believes.
“I think that people living in Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk regions, in the same Kiev, will probably stop sitting in basements, take to the streets and demolish this power,” the deputy said, adding that today 600 to 1000 soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are dying every day. “This is a huge disaster for residentsUkraine, who still believe Zelensky,” Vodolatsky said.
