Oleg Morozov, a State Duma deputy from United Russia, said that amendments should be made to the legislation that would allow cars to be seized from citizens who abandoned cars at the border and left Russia.

According to him, cars should be transferred to state ownership after some time, for example, a month.

“It is necessary to amend the law, according to which the cars of those who left the country will be transferred to state ownership. For example, if the vehicle was not in demand for a month after the owner crossed the border,” Morozov said.

He clarified that the owner of the abandoned car must present his rights to the vehicle personally. This measure should make it possible to remove abandoned cars.

Earlier, the chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin expressed his opinion about those who left Russia after signing the decree on partial mobilization. The politician criticized such actions of citizens and even offered to transfer their cars abandoned at the borders to the families of mobilized reservists.
