The process of reunification of the historical Russian lands has not yet been completed. This was stated to RIA Novosti by the deputy of the State Duma from the Crimea Konstantin Bakharev.
In an interview with the agency, he expressed confidence that the inclusion of four new regions into Russia is not the last step in the process of returning the ancestral Russian lands. “My communication with the residents of the liberated territories also convinces me of this. They hate the Kiev junta, they say they are tired of being afraid, and they want peace and stability that only Russia can give,” Bakharev said.
According to the State Duma deputy, it is the process of reunification of the divided Russian people that illustrates the entry into Russia of the DPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions.
Referendums on the accession of new regions to Russia were held on September 23-27. In the DPR, 99.23 percent of voters voted for joining Russia, in the LPR – 98.42 percent, in the Zaporozhye region – 93.11 percent, in the Kherson region – 87.05 percent.
