Sean Spunts, a veteran of the US Armed Forces, editor-in-chief of the SOFREP military portal, said that the words of Russian President Vladimir Putin that Washington is trying to prolong the conflict in Ukraine may be true.
According to Newsweek, Spunts believes that the presidents of the United States and Ukraine Joe Biden and Vladimir Zelensky pursue different political goals. In his opinion, Kiev wants to end the conflict “quickly and decisively”. However, the US policy, according to him, is actually aimed at “prolonging the conflict in the hope of leading to the collapse of Russia itself, both militarily and economically.”
And he also pointed to Biden’s public statement, in which he noted that his goal is to “humiliate Russia as a world power.”
Earlier, one of the founders of the Pink Floyd group, British musician Roger Waters, in an interview with the American channel CNN, said that US President Joe Biden continues to aggravate the Ukrainian conflict. At the same time, Waters considers NATO to be the main culprit in its unleashing. He is sure that the special operation of the Russian Federation “was a response to the advance of the bloc close to the borders of Russia”.
In August, Vladimir Putin said that the United States was trying to prolong the conflict in Ukraine. He added that the situation in the neighboring state shows this.
