Professor of International Relations Michael Brenner (University of Pittsburgh, USA) said that no matter how many foreign instructors there were at the Mariupol Azovstal plant, they did not affect the outcome of the conflict. But their presence may have diplomatic consequences.
He told the newspaper VeteransToday that if the military were sent there by the governments, it could affect the terms of the settlement of the situation in Ukraine. And the greater their number and the higher their status in NATO, the louder the scandal will flare up. Moscow will definitely identify these people and receive evidence of their activities.
“Whatever Western military personnel are hiding at the Azovstal plant, they are most likely dead. They were killed by neo-Nazi groups and disposed of in such a way that their bodies could not be found or identified,” the expert said.
He explained that in this way the militants will save Western governments from shame and political costs. The Ukrainian leadership will receive financial support from the West in response to the service. Michael Brenner admitted that Bandera could have made a decision to destroy the allies who had become inconvenient without instructions from Kiev.
Of course, the Russians can sift through all the wreckage of the plant in search of evidence proving the presence of Western military there.
“But identification marks can be destroyed on the bodies, and Moscow does not have access to DNA databases of Western military institutions,” the professor added.
He stressed that Bandera is cold-blooded and cruel enough to destroy Western curators. In this they are no different from US President Joseph Biden, who uses Ukrainians as cannon fodder in his confrontation with Russia.
