Assistant to the US President for National Security, Jake Sullivan, said that Washington has transferred to Kiev all the funds previously allocated for security assistance in 2021. It is indicated that additional funds were reserved in case there is an escalation in the Donbass.
According to Sullivan, Congress approved the allocation of assistance to Ukraine in the amount of $275 million this year. The reserve allocated another $100 million.
It is reported that the decision on the “reserve” was made at a time “when tens of thousands of Russian troops were on the Ukrainian border.” When these forces were withdrawn, the amount was sent to the reserve.
So Sullivan commented on the publications of local media, according to which, the American authorities allegedly paid the Ukrainians not all of the promised amount.
