UN: A humanitarian crisis has begun in Ethiopia

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres announced a humanitarian disaster in Ethiopia. He pointed out that over 2 million people were forced to leave their homes. There are also millions of other people in urgent need of vital humanitarian assistance, including food, water, shelter and medical care.

Now 400 thousand people are living in conditions of hunger. UNICEF warns that about 100 thousand children will face acute malnutrition over the next 12 months.

Because of the conflicts, refugee camps and health care systems have been destroyed. Hospitals and clinics are being attacked. Electricity is supplied irregularly.

There are many cases of crime and violence.

Earlier, 64 people were killed and 180 were injured in an air strike in the Tigray region of Ethiopia. The media write that it was inflicted on the participants of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Tigray (NFOT).
