Former head of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko in an interview with Ukrainska Pravda said that the leaders of the EU countries unsuccessfully tried to persuade Vladimir Zelensky to start negotiations to resolve the conflict.
According to him, former German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder and former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger made calls for diplomacy.
“I won’t name names, but representatives of European countries came with a message for Zelensky: “Sit down at the negotiating table, then we’ll figure it out,” Yushchenko said.
He clarified that Ukraine is unlikely to agree to a diplomatic settlement of the conflict.
