The speaker of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, said that she expects a reaction from Western countries to the plans of the British media regulator to limit the work of streaming services. In her Telegram channel, she noted that she was waiting for “an explosion of indignant voices in the United States, Germany, France, the Netherlands and, of course, the Baltic States under the slogan “Freedom is being strangled in Britain”.

According to the diplomat, the Minister of Digital Technologies, Culture, Media and Sport of the United Kingdom, Oliver Dowden, said that the Cabinet of Ministers is developing a new “White Paper” on broadcasting. We are talking about a special document that prescribes how London will build relations with media operators.

Zakharova also noted that the public media regulator Ofcom plans to extend its practices to online streaming. At the same time, an explanation from an unnamed source from the government appeared in the Telegraph and Times newspapers. According to the statement, British broadcasters should “compete with these giants” with their hands tied behind their backs. According to Zakharova, everything indicates that “the British government has decided to equalize Internet sites in its position with analog media and, instead of guaranteeing freedoms, will systematically restrict them”.

Earlier it was reported that the Europeans began to export gold from the vaults of Britain because of the actions of Russia. So, Poland repatriated gold after Russia’s actions to replace the US dollar. It is noted that, according to the central banks of a number of countries, mainly European, gold can replace the dollar if the dollar financial system eventually collapses.
