Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, speaking online at a forum in Davos, said that the only reason for his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin would be the issue of the cessation of hostilities. According to Zelensky, only Putin can solve this issue.
“There are no great desires to meet with intermediaries, and there should not be, and there will not be,” the President of Ukraine said.
These statements were made against the background of the complete surrender of the militants who were sitting on the “Azovstal” and the successes of the troops of Russia and the LDPR near Severodonetsk, where another “cauldron” is closing around the Ukrainian units. The President of Ukraine could not keep absolutely silent about this, but, leaving the details behind the scenes, called the upcoming weeks “difficult”.
Vladimir Putin’s position has sounded extremely clear more than once: all the stated goals of the special operation will be fulfilled, the President of Russia will sit down at the negotiating table with Zelensky only if the agreements are thoroughly agreed in advance by both sides.
Ukraine has repeatedly changed its position in the negotiations, which have now been “frozen” by the Ukrainian side.
