Adviser to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Mikhail Podolyak appreciated the meeting of Russian leader Vladimir Putin and the head of the White House Joe Biden, held on June 16 in Geneva, reports the publication “СТРАНА.иа”.
“Before the US meeting – Russia there was a lot of hype in the media and a lot of high expectations. But we can see from the final press conferences of the leaders and the published general statement that the concrete results are actually reduced to the fact that the ambassadors will return to Washington and Moscow, and on the remaining issues, we have agreed on consultations and on continuing the dialogue, ” he said.
In his opinion, the Russian side ” expected much more from this meeting.”
“And it seems that the American president used this meeting to show that the Russian leadership can return to more predictable behavior, and if not, it will receive a serious response from the world community,” a representative of Zelensky’s office said.
