US President Joe Biden has threatened Chinese President Xi Jinping with a refusal to invest from the West with the support of Russia’s actions in Ukraine. The head of the White House said this in an interview with PBS.
As noted, the US president called the Chinese leader in the summer. He drew attention to the fact that 600 American corporations have left Russia, from McDonalds to Exxon. According to him, Xi Jinping claims that the reason to maintain relations with the United States and European countries is to attract their investments to China. However, who will invest in China if the country can “get involved in the same kind of deal,” the American leader wonders.
He added that, contrary to expectations of China’s support for Russia, this did not happen.
Recall that on February 24, Russia launched a special military operation on the territory of Ukraine.
