Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Monday that he would not support Finland and Sweden joining NATO.
“Turkey cannot say yes to the membership of Finland and Sweden in NATO,” Erdogan said, adding that Ankara considers this impossible.
“Let them not be offended,” he added.
The Turkish leader also noted that he could not believe the assurances of Finland and Sweden that they would not support terrorists.”.
At the same time, Erdogan said that the delegations of Finland and Sweden will visit Turkey on Monday.
Earlier, Erdogan stated that Finland and Sweden support the Kurdistan Workers’ Party, which is recognized as a terrorist in Turkey.
