Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte stated that there is a small probability of Ukraine becoming a candidate for membership in the European Union (EU). Rutte spent a lot of words explaining the obvious. Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, commented on the statement of the Prime Minister of the Netherlands.
“The Prime Minister of the Netherlands spent a lot of words explaining the obvious: promising does not mean getting married. In the outdated version – to get married,” the diplomat wrote in her Telegram channel.
Earlier, Prime Minister Mark Rutte, during a speech in parliament, said that all the promises to Kiev about joining the EU and its membership are just an “emotional statement.”
