President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky attended the parade in honor of the country’s Independence Day with tears in his eyes. A little later, he explained the reason for his emotional reaction.
On the air of the program “The Right to Power”, Vladimir Zelensky said that “everyone was crying, all living people”.
Tears appeared in the eyes of the Ukrainian president when he watched a theatrical action depicting various stages of the history of Ukraine.
Each scene involved a little girl with a bouquet of flowers, which symbolized the young Ukrainian statehood. At the end of the theatrical performance, the girl ran out to Khreshchatyk and ran towards the military, after which the parade itself began.
Recall that the solemn events held in Kiev were timed to the 30th anniversary of the independence of Ukraine. Exactly thirty years ago, Ukraine seceded from the USSR.
