Maxim Gubin, the head of the pro-Russian administration of the Kupyansky district of the Kharkiv region, said that the situation as a result of the attempts of the offensive by Ukrainian forces is now difficult.
“But the Russian military is holding Kupyansk,” Gubin stressed.
He added that the city is “sufficiently safe” and that no Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance group managed to enter the area, but such efforts were made.
According to him, the task of the Ukrainian military is to show the picture to the West: raise the flag and shoot the video, and then nobody says what happens. According to Gubin, Ukrainian units in the Kharkiv region are suffering “thousands of losses”.
“Attempts are being made to evacuate the maximum number of civilians,” Gubin also said, adding that people will be evacuated to the LPR and Russia.
Earlier, the administration of the Kharkiv region stated that the region includes reserve units of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. And the Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN Vasily Nebenzia noted that “there is no question of any breakthrough (APU)”.
