A Russian woman caught Volodin on the street with a complaint about QR codes: they are not allowed to see the child

The speaker of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin in his telegram channel published a video of his communication with officials and residents of Saratov, during which a woman approached him and complained of “discrimination” and “segregation” due to the regional introduction of a QR code system.

The woman said that legislators and Volodin in particular should abandon QR codes as a tool to combat the coronavirus pandemic. The woman stressed that she is not an anti-vaccination, but considers vaccination and the code system to be unrelated concepts.

“QR code is not about health. This is a lever of influence on people,” the Russian woman said. – It’s not necessary to do this with people.

Addressing Volodin, she called on the authorities to regulate the legislation and prevent violations of human rights prescribed in the Constitution. The woman recalled that previous generations of the country’s citizens fought against discrimination and fascism, but now there is a risk of returning to such an unfair division of Russians into groups.

The woman reported that she was already facing humiliating situations. According to her, without a QR code, she is not allowed into the library, cafes, and many other public places, and this even affected her child.

“They forbid me to go help a child in the children’s section to change clothes,” the woman said.

Volodin in response called on the citizen in the conditions of the spread of the coronavirus to think not only about herself, but also about others, and about children. To this, the interlocutor replied that she thinks about others, observes pandemic restrictive measures and wears a mask in public places. Volodin also recalled yesterday’s speech by President Vladimir Putin at a meeting of the HRC, during which he called the “framework” bill on QR codes in transport and added that the law “should be worked out further and on the ground”.

“It is impossible to adopt a law that will discriminate against one part of citizens and at the same time not to do this (discrimination – MK),” the woman replied.

She agreed that the QR code system has not been introduced at the federal level, but the regions have been given broad powers, and some local regulations are already affecting people. She cited the example of the situation in Kazan, where the introduction of QR codes on transport led to collapse and numerous scandals.

“So that local regulations do not contradict federal laws,” the woman added.

Volodin assured during the conversation that he had heard the interlocutor’s point of view and would try to “get answers to the questions that were raised”.

Earlier, Volodin posted a post on his channel with an appeal to readers to leave their comments on the QR code system. In a couple of days, the post gained more than half a million comments, not counting those that the moderators deleted – some users complained about this. With a cursory glance at the comments page, it could be concluded that the overwhelming majority opposes the code system and compares them with “fascism”.
