German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock noted that from a legal point of view, it is not easy to transfer frozen Russian assets to Ukraine. The Ukrainian side calls for the transfer of assets.
“Access to frozen money is not at all easy from a legal point of view,” the dpa news agency quotes Berbok as saying.
According to the Minister, there are a number of good reasons for such a measure. But such a step must comply with the letter of German law, as well as the decision of the European Court.
Earlier it was reported that the Foreign Minister of Ukraine Dmitry Kuleba asks Germany and the G7 countries to adopt appropriate laws. According to Kuleba, they should allow the assets of the Russian Federation to be legally confiscated for the purpose of their further transfer to Ukraine.
