The head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrel, said that the European Union needs to reach an agreement with Russia on the export of 20 million tons of wheat from Ukraine. He told reporters about this before the summit in Brussels.
“We are looking at how to export 20 million tons of Ukrainian wheat. It’s not easy. Russia’s consent is needed for the use of the sea route,” he said, stressing that this is an important topic.
Borrel added that the food crisis will be one of the main topics of the EU summit. In addition, the sixth package of sanctions against Russia will be discussed at the summit.
