Against the background of the situation around the Gaza Strip, China, France, the UAE, Norway and Ireland are calling for a closed meeting of the UN Security Council on Monday, the UAE state news agency WAM reported, citing the country’s Foreign Ministry.

As reported, the UAE Foreign Ministry expresses deep concern about the aggravation of the situation and calls on all parties to exercise maximum restraint.

It is planned to discuss the latest developments and ways to achieve a “just and comprehensive peace” at a closed meeting of the UN Security Council, the statement said.

On Friday, the Israeli military launched Operation Dawn against the militants of the Islamic Jihad group in the Gaza Strip.
