The press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov commented on the dispute between Vladimir Putin and director Alexander Sokurov. According to him, the harsh reaction of the head of state was caused by the lack of professionalism of Sokurov’s statement.
“This is what the president does not tolerate. But he directly told him about it,” Peskov said in a conversation with the Daily Storm.
The day before, at a meeting of the Council for the Development of Civil Society and Human Rights, Sokurov addressed Putin with a statement that a crisis of federality had matured in the country. A dispute began between the director and the president.
At some point, the head of state decided to stop the discussion. Putin asked Sokurov not to turn the meeting into a talk show. At the same time, he invited the director to visit and said that he would be happy to discuss with him separately.
