Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban at a closed meeting of the Fidesz party, the Hungarian Civil Union, said that Ukraine could lose a significant part of its lands, the newspaper Nepszava reports.
According to Orban, the conflict in Ukraine may drag on until 2030. And as a result, as the prime minister said, Kiev “may lose a third or half of its territory”.
Orban blamed the full-scale fighting on the West. “The conflict in Ukraine would have been local, but the West intervened and made it global,” he said.
In addition, the Hungarian politician criticized the EU sanctions against Russia. According to him, due to the sanctions-induced energy crisis, up to 40% of European industry may stop in winter.
Orban also said that he would oppose the extension of anti-Russian sanctions.
