The authorities of Russia and the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) had no reason to blow up the pre-trial detention center in Yelenovka, where Ukrainian prisoners of war were being held.

This was stated on the air of the BFM TV channel by former French Ambassador to Russia Sylvie Bermann. It is much more advantageous for Moscow and Donetsk to keep them for trial so that everyone can hear their confessions. The process would confirm the presence of Nazis in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, she stressed.

Earlier it was reported that the first deputy permanent representative of the Russian Federation to the UN Dmitry Polyansky demanded from the organization an immediate assessment of the shelling by Ukrainian nationalists of the detention center in Yelenovka. 53 people were killed and 71 prisoners were injured.
