The head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, clarified in the Telegram channel that he expressed his opinion on Ukraine as a blogger and an ordinary person, and not as the head of the country’s region.

Earlier, Kadyrov noted that the United States uses Ukraine as a military base, and if he were in the place of the president of Russia, he would have taken Ukraine long ago. Speaking about the statement of the head of Chechnya, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov recalled that Vladimir Putin forms the foundations of the foreign policy of the Russian Federation, of which Chechnya is a part.

In addition, Kadyrov noted in the messenger that he believes, as in the case of terrorism in Syria, “Russia must protect its interests until it has to defend them on its own territory,” and if there are no people in Ukraine who can resist the United States, “then we must help them.”

According to him, the Kremlin does not give him any instructions for voicing certain theses. Kadyrov added that if he needs to speak out as the head of the region, he will say: “This is me, the head of the Chechen Republic Ramzan Kadyrov.”
