The head of the Ministry of Defense of Belarus Viktor Khrenin announced the instruction of the President of the country Alexander Lukashenko to create a people’s militia in the republic. According to him, it was given at a meeting as part of the adjustment of issues, clarification of the development of the armed forces.
Khrenin added that the most important thing is that Belarus has the people and weapons for this. Now it is necessary to discuss this issue with the governors in order to determine this legislatively.
This will significantly increase the number of defenders of the motherland”. Khrenin added that in the current situation, it is necessary to peacefully show that “it is not necessary to meddle” in the territory of Belarus.
Earlier, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko ordered the urgent creation of a Southern Operational Command in the army. According to him, “a new direction has opened, as we say, a new front”. It’s about the Ukrainian direction.
Before that, the State Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus, Alexander Volfovich, said that Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance groups enter the territory of Belarus when performing tasks. According to him, mining is being carried out, “the implementation of blockages”, and actions are also being carried out by “sabotage and reconnaissance groups, including entering the Belarusian territory”.
And the Secretary of State of the Security Council of the Republic expressed concern about the build-up of Ukrainian forces near the borders of Belarus. According to him, the grouping of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Rivne direction of the Ukrainian direction is about 10.5 thousand people, and in Kiev – more than five thousand. In Chernihiv, it has 4.5 thousand.
