Senator Lyudmila Narusova commented on reports about her possible departure from the Federation Council, which appeared against the background of the departure of her daughter Ksenia Sobchak from Russia.
“This is fake, I don’t comment on fakes. Someone really wants (me to leave)”, – the senator told RIA Novosti.
Earlier there were reports in Telegram channels about the impending resignation of Narusova. Sources claimed that she had already written a statement.
In the middle of the week, it became known about the detention and arrest of the commercial director Sobchak and the ex-editor-in-chief of Tatler in the framework of a criminal case of extortion from the head of Rostec. Searches took place in Sobchak’s house near Moscow, sources claimed that she herself had the procedural status of a suspect and that they intended to detain her. It soon became known that Sobchak left the country shortly beforebefore the start of the investigative actions, she arrived in the Baltic States using an Israeli passport, the presence of which she had previously denied. Sobchak called the extortion case an attempt to put pressure on her journalistic projects.
