Acting head of the Zaporozhye region Yevgeny Balitsky said that in the village of Konstantinovka, Melitopol district, the improvement of the bypass road has begun, the need for which arose after yesterday’s explosion of the Melitopol automobile bridge.
“Unknown persons blew up two reinforced concrete pillars, after which the bridge received a draft,” Balitsky said.

According to him, the power of each of the two explosive devices is estimated at 15-20 kg in TNT equivalent. Balitsky also stated that the sabotage “did not affect the movement of goods in any way, the bridge has no strategic significance.”

The head of the movement “We are together with Russia” Vladimir Rogov said earlier that the demolition of the bridge will not affect the functioning of the transport corridor to the Crimea.
