Alexey Pushkov, chairman of the Federation Council Commission on Information Policy, questioned the readiness of Western countries to declare a political war on Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan over rapprochement with Russia.
“Turkey is such a valuable member of NATO for the Western alliance, holding the keys to the Near and Middle East, which raises great doubts about the readiness of Western countries to declare a political war on Erdogan,” Pushkov wrote in his Telegram channel.
According to him, in the event of an aggravation of the confrontation with Turkey, the West may “remain in the balance”, and the real split between the NATO member countries causes the leadership of the alliance great fears.
