The Russian airline Volga-Dnepr, which is engaged in cargo transportation, will no longer fly through the airspace of Belarus due to sanctions and the requirements of the British authorities. This is reported by RBC with reference to the data of the FlightRadar24 portal.
“We really decided not to temporarily use the airspace of Belarus for flights of our aircraft,” a representative of the company told the publication.
Earlier, the European Union, the United Kingdom and the United States imposed sanctions against Belarus. The restrictions, in particular, affected the provider of air navigation services “Belaeronavigation”. The UK Civil Aviation Authority has banned cooperation with the company.Volga-Dnepr follows the instructions of the department, as it complies with all international rules,the publication reports with reference to a source close to the airline.
Earlier, after the incident with the forced landing of the Ryanair plane at the Minsk airport, the European Union recommended that European airlines refuse to fly over the territory of Belarus. Belavia airlines also fly through the airspace of European countries.
