The Kremlin commented on the non-observance of social distance at the “Scarlet Sails” holiday

Dmitry Peskov commented on the “Scarlet Sails” alumni festival held in St. Petersburg, which was attended by several thousand people without masks and observing social distance.

“Every major event is held taking into account the recommendations of the chief sanitary doctor of a particular region,” he said, noting that such recommendations were formulated and implemented in St. Petersburg on “Scarlet Sails”

“There are no direct bans on such events, decisions are made by the leadership of the city or region based on the requirements of the sanitary authorities,” Peskov stressed.

He refused to say how, in this case, the ban on single pickets in St. Petersburg should be regarded in connection with the difficult epidemiological situation. “I can’t answer, you need to ask the sanitary authorities,” the Kremlin representative said.

He confirmed that in St. Petersburg, as in Moscow, there is an outbreak of coronavirus, there is a big load on the health care system, but the authorities of the region are closely monitoring the situation, how it is changing.

According to Peskov, it will be clear in a few days how the holiday “Scarlet Sails” affected the weather situation in the northern capital. We will all see whether there is a jump or not, he said.

At the same time, it will be possible to talk about the responsibility of someone for holding this event.
