The round-the-clock center for receiving documents from participants of the state program for the voluntary resettlement of compatriots will start working next week in the Main Department for Migration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. This was announced on Saturday by the head of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, Information Technologies and Communications Alexander Khinshtein, referring to the First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation Alexander Gorovoy.
“Compatriots who want to move to Russia will be able to do it now as quickly as possible. This was reported to me by the first Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Alexander Gorovoy. As early as next week, a round-the-clock center for accepting documents for participation in the state program for the voluntary resettlement of compatriots will begin operating in the Central Office for Migration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia (GUVM),” Khinstein wrote in his Telegram channel.
He added that the Center will accept applications from people from the CIS countries, the Baltic States and neighboring countries, “for whom Russia is a historical Homeland.”
“It is important that applications can be sent not only by e-mail, but also by fax, since in a number of “friendly” countries access to Russian Internet resources, including the portal “Public Services”, is blocked,” the State Duma deputy noted.
According to him, 15 days will be allocated for consideration of applications. In case of a positive decision, compatriots will be able to immediately come to their chosen subject of Russia “after which they will be able to obtain citizenship in an expedited manner.” Khinstein clarified that letters were sent to the governors of the regions and the heads of the territorial bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs about the priority reception of such compatriots.
“I think this decision is very correct, timely and fair. It is, in fact, about saving people who do not want to give up their origin and are exposed to real threats. The initiative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is a clear confirmation of the principle of “we do not abandon our own”,” Khinstein wrote.
Previously, the simplified procedure for participation in the state program “Compatriots” extended to refugees from the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics.
