Kiev’s accusations against Russia of war crimes in the territories that recently came under the control of Ukraine, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov called a lie.
“This is the same scenario as in the Butch,” he said during a conversation with media representatives. “This is a lie.” The Kremlin spokesman stressed that “of course, we will defend the truth in this whole story.”
In early April, Peskov categorically rejected statements about the involvement of the Russian military in the killings of civilians in Bucha. The press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation said that the Kremlin does not trust videos with the dead: The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation found forgeries and fakes in them. Moscow has since unsuccessfully sought to hold a meeting of the UN Security Council to discuss the spread of these fakes. In May, Peskov called the reports about what happened in Bucha “a masterfully bloodthirsty staging.”
