British intelligence in its report on the situation in Ukraine for February 5 reported that the situation of the AFU in Bakhmut (Artemovsk) has worsened.

As noted in the document, Russian forces continued to advance in order to encircle Bakhmut.

“The M03 and H32 highways are the two main access routes to the city for Ukrainian defenders – now, probably, under direct fire threat as a result of the latest advances of Russian forces,” British intelligence notes.

In addition, the report says that earlier the fighters of the PMCs “Wagner” took control of another road connecting Bakhmut with Seversk.

The Ukrainian units remaining in Bakhmut, which the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky decided not to hand over, continue to be supplied only by alternative routes over rough terrain.

“Bakhmut finds himself in increasing isolation”, – the British intelligence report says.
