The national truce with the Taliban (“Taliban”, a terrorist organization banned in the Russian Federation) was disrupted by the escape of ex-President Ashraf Ghani from the countries. This was stated by the former vice-president of the country, the head of the Hazara community, Mohammad Karim Khalili.

Khalili previously headed the Supreme Council for National Reconciliation. According to him, the Ghani government has disrupted the agreements with the Taliban that were reached by the Council. According to Khalili, these agreements took into account the interests of all ethnic and political groups.

“During the presidency of Ashraf Ghani, we adhered to a peaceful policy towards the Taliban. We agreed to create a government that would recognize the rights of all ethnic groups and political forces, and the Taliban side agreed with this,” Khalili said.

He stressed that Ghani’s secret escape created the conditions for the rule of the Taliban.
