Zelensky thanked Erdogan, who called Crimea “annexed”

The office of the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky reported. that he thanked his Turkish counterpart Recep Erdogan for his position on Crimea.

During his speech at the UN General Assembly, Erdogan said that Ankara supports the territorial integrity of Ukraine and does not recognize the entry of Crimea into the Russian Federation. He stressed that he considers the transition of the peninsula to Russia as an “annexation”. A number of Russian statesmen, including the head of the Crimean parliament’s committee on people’s diplomacy and interethnic relations, Yuri Hempel, criticized Erdogan’s position.

Earlier, the Turkish Foreign Ministry announced the non-recognition of the Duma elections in Crimea.
