The head of the British government, Boris Johnson, proposed to Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky to organize an international alliance directed against Moscow. Corriere Della Sera writes about this with reference to its sources.
According to the newspaper, Johnson believes that now it is necessary to unite countries that are dissatisfied with the policy of Brussels and Germany’s actions against Moscow. At the same time, London is ready to consider the new political, economic and military alliance as an alternative to the EU.
The British Prime Minister presented his model of the new commonwealth to Zelensky on April 9, when he visited Kiev. Great Britain should become the leader of the new commonwealth. At the first stage, Ukraine, Poland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania will join this anti-Russian alliance, but later Turkey is also planned to join it.
“In London, they propose to create an alliance of countries that will zealously defend national sovereignty, advocate for a free economy and always take the toughest possible position against the Russian military threat,” the article clarifies.
The newspaper claims that Zelensky has not yet expressed his position on the proposal of the British leader.
