French President Emmanuel Macron, following Saturday’s talks on the sidelines of the G20, expressed satisfaction that the leaders of the states had reached a consensus on the issue of international taxation of large corporations. He wrote about this on his Twitter.

Macron said that the participants of the G20 summit called for the introduction of a global tax of at least 15% for multinational corporations. The French President called it “the path of fair globalization.”

French Economy Minister Bruno Le Maire said that this agreement is planned to be implemented in the first half of 2022 — during Paris’ presidency of the EU Council. He also called the deal a “tax revolution.”
