French President Emmanuel Macron said that the Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison deceived him about the AUKUS trilateral security partnership between the US, UK and Australia.
“I don’t think I know that,” Macron said, answering a question about whether he thinks Morrison cheated on him.
At the same time, the French leader indicated that he has great respect for Australia and its people.
It should be noted that on October 28, Macron and Morrison had their first telephone conversation after Australia refused a defense contract with France for the supply of submarines.
