The mobilized Russian servicemen told how they encountered foreign mercenaries while performing combat missions on the Svatovsky sector of the front in the Donbass, RIA Novosti reports.
One of the fighters, who witnessed the events, told the agency that his unit was in the trenches, occupied the defense. An order was received to move to the landing center, since artillery will work on the enemy.
“We moved to the center, and shadows began to flicker,” says the fighter.
According to him, Russian servicemen began to demand a password from the group moving in the landing in order to recognize which unit it was.
“In response, they shouted to us: “Russians, surrender!” We opened fire on them,” the fighter said.
The soldiers also told the agency that the fighters who offered them to surrender spoke with, presumably, a Polish or Slovak accent.
The Russian military has repeatedly stated that Polish mercenaries are involved in the conflict on the side of the Kiev regime. At the end of November, the Ministry of Defense reported the destruction of more than 100 Polish mercenaries in the DPR and two hundred in the Great Farms of the Kharkiv region.
In the LPR, with reference to intelligence data and radio intercepts, during the same period, they reported large losses among Polish soldiers near Svatovo, Kremennaya, Lisichansk and in other directions.
