Peskov commented on the withdrawal of Tinkov and Stronsky from Russian citizenship

Dmitry Peskov commented on the information that two more businessmen from the Forbes list – Oleg Tinkov and the founder of Revolut startup Nikolai Stronsky – have renounced their Russian citizenship.

“This is their right,” the presidential press secretary said.

Peskov recalled that “they have practically no business left here, they are not participants in entrepreneurial life in our country. That’s all there is to say about it.”

Oleg Tinkov explained his decision by his rejection of Russian politics and expressed hope that other entrepreneurs would follow his example. Nikolai Stronsky, the 38-year-old son of Gazprom’s top manager, the founder of the financial technology company Revolut, did not publicly voice the motivation for renouncing Russian citizenship.
